KC Concepcion signs anew with ABS-CBN

AFTER much speculation about whether she would move to TV5, actress/TV host KC Concepcion finally signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN2.  This move contradicted Cristy Fermin’s claims on her talk show, Juicy!, that KC is transferring to TV5 Kapatid network.

She signed a 3-year management contract with Viva Entertainment, under the wing of Vic del Rosario.  Viva is the same talent arm that handles the career of her mom, Megastar Sharon Cuneta.  KC’s dad, actor Gabby Concepcion, is also with Viva and TV5.

Since the move with Viva, (who facilitated the P1 billion contract with TV5), the possibility of her leaving ABS-CBN became the topic of the local entertainment scene, given the current situation of her personal life now with another ABS-CBN prized talent actor Piolo Pascual.  Del Rosario denied that the rumor of KC’s transfer was the result of a fallout with ABS-CBN bosses due to a controversial interview that aired last month on The Buzz.

KC joined Star Magic in October 2010.  She appeared in the Star Cinema movie Forever and a Day with Sam Milby, and was the host of The Buzz.  She signed endorsement deals with Century Tuna, Real Leaf Green Tea and sang at the opening of the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia.

With Viva, KC would make a movie, record an album and appear on TV shows, said Del Rosario.  “She just renewed two big endorsement deals.  We are working on two or three more.”

KC explained that she opted to stay with ABS-CBN because she considers it as her home network.  She also revealed that she has a lot of exciting projects ahead of her, including Alta with Gretchen Baretto and Angelica Panganiban, as well as hosting ASAP every Sunday.

A Cebuana beauty, Sheilamay Sayson, won the Ichiban Idol amateur singing contest held at Cache Creek Resort Casino recently.

The 21-year-old winner is the daughter of Edwin and Mary Sayson and works as a registered nurse at the Convalescence Hospital in Sacramento.  Miss Sayson did a rendition of Celine Dion’s It’s All Coming Back to Me Now, bagging the title of Ichiban Idol.

Syesha Mercado, a finalist of American Idol, Cache Creek Entertainment specialist Keith Edwards and stage actress Jackie Castillejo-Guingona were the distinguished board of judges.

Sayson now succeeds Ichiban Idol season 1 winner Ellona Santiago, who became a finalist with her group InTENsity in the reality talent show, X-Factor.

Thirteen-year-old Micah Gregorio from Tracy was 1st runner-up, while a registered nurse from San Jose, Cathy Duhaylungsod, was 2nd runner-up.

Sayson received a round-trip ticket to the Philippines donated by Ben and Edna Ramos, owners of  Edna Ichiban Library on Westborough Boulevard in South San Francisco.
