Dolphy, The King of Comedy: 80 years of Living, Loving – and Laughing

The Philippines’ one and only King of Comedy, Dolphy, will appearing at the Reno Ballroom of the Silver Legacy Resort Casino in Reno on October 25, at 8 pm.

The concert entitled Dolphy at 80, will commemorate Dolphy’s 80th birthday and will also celebrate his career, spanning more than five decades.  He will be joined on stage by none other than his real-life partner,  Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla, his children Eric Quizon, Vandolph and Jenny Quizon, Boy2 Quizon, Jeffrey Quizon and a lot more.

The event will also feature his newly-released autobiography, Dolphy, Hindi Ko Ito Narating Mag-isa, which will be made available to the public that weekend.

The show is brought to you by Kaizz Ventures, Inc. in association with the Silver Legacy Resort Casino, El Dorado Hotel Casino, ABS-CBN, Calayan Surgicenter, Tancinco Law Office, Smart Telecom, Philippine Airlines, Styleshoppe of Union City and Pinoy Pinoy Filipino Fastfood of Vallejo.

To inspire emerging young fashion artists, the Fashion Arts and Youth Enterprises, Inc. (FAYE) newly elected officers will hold a series of fashion shows to showcase the 2009 spring/summer collections of Crisanta Malig and promote their free after-school program.

Marilen Bernardo, the newly elected president of the organization said that these series of events will serve as a tool to reach out to the community and spread FAYE’s mission and vision.

All the officers and board members are very excited about their upcoming events like vice president James Adkins, treasurer Judy Cayabyab, Rachel Albovias, Aris Garcia, Richard Lao and CEO Crisanta Malig that attended the meeting at Patio Filipino last October 5.  

In celebration of Filipino American Heritage Month, FAYE in cooperation with ABS-CBN International and Samahanfest will showcase Crisanta Malig’s Filipiniana and Contemporary collections at Tanforan Mall, San Bruno on October 18, at the San Francisco City Hall on October 30, at Alimango Asian Cuisine on November 2, at Patio Filipino on November 6 and at Fairfield Civic Center on November 9.
