Everything is set for the annual “White Christmas Ball” of the Luzon Visayas Mindanao (LuzViMin) Association of Northern California on Saturday, December 13, at the Grand Ballroom of Patio Espanol, on Alemany Street, San Francisco at 6pm.  The affair is strictly formal.

Newly-elected Daly City Councilman David Canepa will induct the officers, Board of Directors, advisers and different committee chairs at this year’s holiday celebration of the biggest Filipino-American organization here in Northern California.

The new officers for 2008-2009 include President Rey Reyes, Vice President Bernie Zabala, Executive Assistant Ludy Reyes, Executive Secretary Tess Parazo, Assistant Secretary Imelda Canoza, Treasurer Gloria Nielsen, Assistant Treasurer Amor Barba, Auditor Bien Castillo, Social Director and Event Coordinator Ora Seyler, PRO Vilma Bollinger, Normie Cardenas and Letty de Silva, Chief of Security Vic Barba, Sgt.-at-Arms Margaret dela Cruz, Security Romy “Buro” Sanchez and Mitch Tulio.  

The Board of Directors include Chairman Joe dela Cruz, members Chito Cardenas, Del Reyes, Lilia “Baby” Corpus, Alice Bowley and Ed Miranda.  Advisers are George Paminiano and Pat Ancheta, choreographer Rene Ricafrente, dance consultant Mike Bollinger, medical adviser Carmen Robles and food coordinator Zeny Yolangco.

Senator Leland Yee will head the list of distinguished guests who are expected to attend the affair, along with State Commissioner for the Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Rey Satorre, Milpitas Mayor and Mrs. Joe Esteves, Daly City Vice Mayor and Mrs. Mike Guingona, beauty impresario Ferdie Villar, Club Royale International Foundation president and Mrs. Gil Navarro, Mrs. RP-USA 2008 Jan Tan Kellner, Daly City Mayor and Mrs. Sal Torres, and many others.

Music and entertainment for the ballroom dance will be provided by Felix Villapando and his Element of Time band.

Fashion Arts and Youth Enterprises (FAYE), Inc. will be presenting a special fashion show for a cause dubbed A Touch of Filipiniana – Mix and Match Collection on December 14, Sunday 7pm at Archipelago Bistro in Burlingame.  This special parade of traditional and contemporary creations were all designed by Crisanta Malig and her granddaughter, Britanny Hampton.  Proceeds of the show will benefit the Free After School Program of Jefferson High School facilitated by FAYE, Inc.

The prevailing theme of the show is Christmas Blooms into Spring Romance and the clothes will be paraded in all splendor by prominent beauties like Mrs. RP-USA International winners Marilen Bernardo, Lilwyn Pascua, Judy Cayabyab and upcoming fashion models like Izette Herrer Kesa Ocampo, Samantha Duenas, Kristal Navarro, Tricia Badong and former Miss Earth-USA beauty titlist Krystle Ann Dizon and a lot more.  Modeling the barong tagalog ensemble are dashing Daly City Councilmenber Dave Canepa, singer Christopher Bibra, Bradford Adkins, Richard Lao and others.  Providing musical entertainment are popular tenor  and dentist Narciso Yusi and young singer Angel Ventura.  Noel Nuguit and David Rodriguez will serve as masters of ceremonies.
