MY FERVENT wish is that even with the financial upheavals everyone will welcome Year 2009 with optimism and hope. We need this kind of attitude now more than ever.
I look back at Year 2008 with a sense of fulfilment. Maraming pagsubok, yes, but the important thing is that we’re still here to speak of it. We as a people are resilient and I’m thankful for that.
To all the Filipinos here and all over the world who made a difference in 2008, I encourage them to take this legacy beyond.
And let’s not forget to take care of ourselves because our health and well-being are the best resources we need to live a full life.
Let’s continue to be beautiful; to feel beautiful. Here’s to a fruitful 2009 for all of us! Happy New Year!

I was saddened to hear about the troubles in the love relationship between my good friend Dr. Vicki Belo and her beau of three years, Dr. Hayden Kho.
In the past, I have spent some time with them as a couple and I could tell how much they loved and cared for each other.
Vicki has always been understanding and supportive of Hayden’s career. In fairness to Hayden, I also saw his dedication to Vicki.
I’m not qualified to say what caused the break-up (even if as of this printing, there are rumors that they have patched things up once again) but I do want to send some support and encouragement their way.
Especially for Vicki who has such a kind and big heart. When it comes to love, Vicki surrenders with pure abandon. Ganun siyang magmahal--honest and true. She’s such a passionate person and I think this is the way she knows how to love--with nothing held back. Napakasuwere talaga ng mga taong mahal niya at mamahalin pa niya.
I can’t help but recall this romantic poem "I hold it true, whatever befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; ‘Tis better to have loved and lost, Than never to have loved at all."
Everything in life naman talaga has its ups and downs. Be it in business, financial affairs or love relationships. I guess the twists and turns make life more interesting.
To Vicki, I hope you find the love and peace you very much deserve. Rest assured that your friends, including yours truly, are here to support you at this emotionally trying time in your personal life.
Happy New Year!
