In life, we encounter moments that turn into turning points. We enter certain crossroads that give us choices: to go here or there. Whatever direction we take, our lives are changed forever.

The year 2008 was a challenging year for many of us, financially and perhaps emotionally. Even the Ambassadress of Beauty Dr Vicki Belo was no exception. Maybe it’s because she is so famous and successful that challenges hound her even more.

It’s no secret that she is going through a very painful and public breakup with her beau of three years, Dr Hayden Kho.

There are so many questions. Maraming concerned at nagtatanong tungkol sa kalagayan ni doktora. People have been fascinated by her May-December love relationship with the young, handsome doctor.

After taking some time for herself to reflect, she faced the public with the admission that though she has felt deep hurt, she has accepted that things happen for a reason.

She shared lessons she learned from the trauma, such as becoming too dependent and relying on another person to make her happy. She gave too much of herself, kasi ganun talaga siyang magmahal—whether it’s a friend, family, or boyfriend.

Amid rumors of a reconciliation, Vicki is quick to say that there no chance of that although she has found it in her heart to forgive.

As of press time, Vicki is in town for a much needed respite from all that has happened. She is fresh from a soul-searching retreat to help her deal with the emotional debris.
