This is true because when dancers perform, their movements not only represent twists, turns, steps or leaps, but a more innate ability to tell a story—a story of their history, heritage and culture. Hiyas Philippine Folk Dance Company has created to convey this message in their performances, and continues to broaden the community’s perspective about the Philippines and its people—and in this case, speaks the language of the Filipino soul. And who wouldn’t be tempted to savor exquisite, sumptuous food, especially the ones prepared by gourmet chefs like Cecilia de Castro and Wolfgang Puck. But indulging yourself doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to give up on being healthy -- and that’s where we strike a balance in this week’s issue.
