A COURT judge is responsible for the outcome of every court proceeding for he controls pre-trial motions which sets the pace and the tone of any trial. This is a tough job to live up to, and only a person with the caliber of Judge Cheryl B. Moss of the Department I of the Eight Judicial District Court of the Clark County Courts, Nevada, can do the job.
Judge Cheryl Moss, is a graduate of Political Science from the George Washington University, and a graduate of Law--where she finished in the top 25 percent of her class--from the Columbus School of Law, Catholic University of America, both in Washington DC. She was elected first in the Family Division of the District Court in 2000 before she started rendering service as the judge for the first department of the eight judicial district court of Clark County, Nevada in 2001.
Judge Moss who is a member of the Nevada District Judges Association, the National Council of Family Juvenile and Family court Judges, the Nevada State Bar, the Clark County Bar Association, and the Civil Order Enforcement Task Committee; also serves as one of the Board of Trustees of the Clark County Library, and also does volunteer work on judging local and statewide competitions such as the UNLV Law School Moot Court Competition, the High School Mock Trial Competition, and the Trial by Peers Program. And as if Judge Moss isn’t carrying a hefty load yet, she also volunteers some of her time on Night Court and several weeks each year for 24-hour Temporary Protection Order fax duty.
Judge Moss has shown her dedication to Clark County, as aside from her volunteer and professional works, she was the first judge to initiate a pilot program on gambling assessments for parents in child custody cases. Judge Cheryl Moss is simply a court judge worthy of her title. (www.asianjournal.com)
