E-mail Print

THERE is also one other Fil-Am part of the San Francisco Entertainment Commission. Aside from community organizer, Al Perez, Mayor Gavin Newsom appointed 31-year-old Justin Roja to the Entertainment Commission in February of 2008.

A University of Southern California with a BS in Public Policy, Management, and Urban Planning, Roja serves as President and Urban Planning representative on the commission.

Established in 2003, the San Francisco Entertainment Commission’s mission is to regulate, promote and enhance the field of entertainment in the city of San Francisco. The members of the commission are responsible for accepting, reviewing and gathering information to conduct hearings for entertainment-related permit applications.

Additionally, the Entertainment Commission plans and coordinates the provision of City services for major events for which there is no recognized organizer, promoter, or sponsor, according to its website.

Roja is a San Francisco-based club owners, political consultant, and brand marketer.

7x7 Magazine in San Francisco named Roja as one of the Hot 20 under the age of 40.

He’s also been named "Promoters of the Year" for 2007 and 2008 respectively.
