FIL-AM Aurora Cudal is Commissioner of the Housing Advisory Commission in the City of Chula Vista, California. Chula Vista, is in the second largest city in San Diego.
The Chula Vista Housing Advisory Commission serves as an advisory body to the Housing Authority, City Council, Redevelopment Agency, and the City Manager. The commission periodically assesses the housing needs in the City and reviews housing policies, strategies, and proposed affordable housing projects; reviews and makes recommendations on matters before the Housing Authority.
Prior to serving as commissioner, Cudal, a distinguished member of the Fil-Am community, has also been appointed as Member of the City Mayor’s Asian & Pacific Islanders Advisory Board and served as a member in the Parks and Recreation Board, City of San Diego in 2004.
Born in 1933, Cudal graduated with a BSE major in Health and Physical Education from the University of the Philippines in 1952.
She served as the Chairperson in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine, College of Medicine, Manila Central University before immigrating to the US in the early 1990’s.
She’s also been awarded a Plaque of Recognition by the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple for being "A Lady of Distinction" during the Philippine Republic Centennial Celebration in 1998 and received several recognitions for her work as a community leader from Congressman Bob Filner.
