Ralph Dimarucut: Field Representative of California’s 79th Assembly DistrictCALIFORNIA’S 79th Assembly District is under the jurisdiction of Assembly member Mary Salas. To help Salas keep in touch with her constituents, she has a Field Representative who acts as a liaison to the people, homeowners associations, neighborhood councils, businesses and local community groups. Young Filipino American Ralph Dimarucut is Assemblymember Salas’ Field Representative who responds to a variety of public concerns and inquiries by providing complete and helpful information to constituents, attends meetings and communicates Salas’ positions and plans and recommends strategies for executing various community outreach programs.

Ralph is a graduate from San Diego State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Asian Pacific Studies. While working towards his Degree he dedicated his time and energy to serving several Asian American and Filipino American community organizations in San Diego.

During his last semester of college he interned for San Diego City Councilman Anthony Young, where his passion for public service was realized.

Among other duties, he is the member’s liaison to the Veterans Community, the Asian Pacific Islander community, as well as National City, Paradise Hills, and Imperial Beach.

"I am very excited to work with Ralph Dimarucut," declared Ms. Salas when she announced the addition of Ralph to her team last year. "I think he will bring a new dimension to my office; he has great understanding of the community. Mr. Dimarucut has been involved in several community events, including the Fil-Am Arts and Culture Festival, the San Diego Asian Film Festival and the Paradise Hills Community Clean Up."

Ralph, for his part, said that he is happy and honored to be able to represent the Asian Pacific Islander population in the 79th District, especially the Filipino American community working for Assembly Member Mary Salas. "I admire her commitment to our community," stated Mr. Dimarucut. "I first heard her speak at an event, and I thought it was great that she took the time to meet with the Filipino community. It’s exciting to be representing Assemblymember Salas as well as the community where I grew up."
