Miss Philippines Valerie Weigmann is in London now, less than a month before the Miss World 2014 pageant night.  There, she and along with the rest of the candidates will be preparing for various activities and for the big night scheduled on Dec. 14 at the ExCel London Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Excited to meet all the contestants, Valerie said that she would like to hear their stories—where they grew up, and get to really know them.

The model and former Eat Bulaga! co-host also went through rigorous training in Manila and was able to meet the reigning Miss World, Megan Young.

Valerie said she has learned a lot from Megan, who advised her to “be who you are.”

“Be yourself, that’s really the key, and enjoy it. Be excited for everything that’s going to be happening in London,” Valerie quoted Megan as saying.

We wish Valerie the best of luck!

More wedding talk:

Adding to the entourage list of Kapuso royal couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera for their wedding this December 30 are Queen of All Media Kris Aquino as one of the principal sponsors, and comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas as a bridesmaid.

Marian insists that there will be no conflict in having Kris and Ai-Ai at their wedding.  The two have a recent falling out which to date, has not been resolved.

Kris’ brother, Philippine President Noynoy Aquino is also attending the wedding.

Another couple tying the knot less than six months from now are actress Heart Evangelista and Sen. Chiz Escudero, which is set to happen on February 15.

One of the rumors going around on social media is that that Heart is not happy with GMA Network because it seems like more attention is being given to Dingdong and Marian’s wedding.

The actress however, cleared the air during an interview with StarTalk last Nov. 15.

Heart stressed that she is ignoring all negative issues and concentrating on being happy.  She also said that rumors and negative issues are all “part of the game.”

“You have to accept that everybody will have their own opinion about whoever they idolize, so I just have to understand and respect that.  Parang ganun na lang yun,” she said and added, “And then, I think it becomes a normal thing.  We are in showbiz—it’s part of the game.”

And since we are on the topic about weddings, many are asking—are Hayden Kho and beauty guru Dr. Vicki Belo finally getting married?

After their failed engagement in 2010, the couple is once again considering the possibility of tying the knot.

Pinag-uusapan namin,” said Dr. Belo, during an exclusive interview with PEP.ph.

Initially, it was Hayden that PEP.ph tried to approach, but he was quick to diffuse any possibility of an interview.

“No, the answer is no,” he respectfully said.  “Alam ko na ang itatanong mo.  Sorry, next time na lang.”

However, in a separate interview with Dr. Belo, she confirmed that Hayden has expressed his desire to get married.

“Yeah, we’re just talking about it.  Wala pa naman concrete plans.  Thank you,” she said.

Here’s hoping that these lovebirds will finally settle down.  Let’s wait for their formal announcement!
