Claudine Baretto’s ‘mysterious’ illness revealed by her nephew

MOST artists don’t want the public to know if they are undergoing a medical procedure, especially those have serious health conditions.  But since they live under the public eye, it’s hard to keep something out of the news.

For Claudine Barretto, she actually posted a photo of herself on Instagram.  However in the photo, she looked big — more specifically swollen — that many of her fans were alarmed about the true condition of her health.

Also, Claudine has been in and out of the hospital for the last month, and has never shared the real cause of her illness.  The only information that they gave was that the actress’ leg is getting operated on.  Many speculated that she had cancer, but that never got confirmed either.

Finally, her nephew Cholo Barretto shared with ABS-CBN News about Claudine’s condition, explaining that her auntie’s blood is ‘prone to infection.”

“Her white blood cells are very high and her red blood cells are extremely low. Which is why she is vulnerable and prone to infection,” Cholo said.

Claudine’s nephew also thanked the public for respecting their privacy.  For now, he is asking for more prayers.

“We would like to thank everyone for respecting our family’s privacy and for the love, most especially to her Claudinians and Palanggas.  We would appreciate your continued prayers for her full recovery. Maraming salamat po.

There’s a new loveteam brewing, but half of the team is not entirely in showbiz.  In fact, for many years, he has been on the background of his daughter’s career.

Enter the blooming love between actress and TV host Karla Estrada (and Queen Mother of young actor, King of Hearts Daniel Padilla), and Jose Garcia, father of sexy actress Coleen Garcia.   Nowadays, the pair is called “KarJo.”

KarJo started when Jose made a guest appearance with Coleen and her boyfriend, “It’s Showtime” host Billy Crawford on Karla’s morning talk show (with Jolina Magdangal and Melai Cantiveros), “Magandang Buhay.”  During that episode, the two were teased about being a good match.

After that episode, KarJo was seen together during the red carpet premiere of Coleen’s movie, “Love Me Tomorrow.”  The public seem to agree that they look good together.

Coleen has no objections about the possibility of her dad being in a relationship.  During a recent blogger’s conference, the actress said, “My dad has been single since I was 9 and I’m already turning 24 this year, so it’s about time.”

To add, the sexy actress actually approves of Karla.

Oo naman.  I just want my dad to be happy and Tita Karla also deserves to be happy,” she said.

Another question though:  Is she ready to the be a stepsister with Daniel, if ever?

“It’s so weird, it’s so strange pero okay naman.  Tanggap ko naman if ever,” she added.

For Jose, he is the perfect gentleman when asked about whether or not he is courting the Queen Mother.  He, however, shared how he sees Karla.

“When I see her, it’s like I’m looking into a mirror.  Ito pala ang babae na version ko,” he said then added, “Sabi ko, ‘Baliw rin pala ito.’

Will love be the final destination for KarJo?  We’ll wait and see what happens next.
