Acclaimed hit musical 'I Do Bidoo Bidoo' opens Nov. 30 in NYC at the Producers' Club Indiehouse Cinema

New York, NY-In the pop tradition of comedy musicals like “Mamma Mia” and “Rock of Ages,” comes “I Do Bidoo Bidoo” the acclaimed crowd-pleaser from the Philippines that celebrates young love, family values, and the hit songs of the Apo Hiking Society (the Philippines’ answer to The Beatles).
Written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Chris Martinez, “I Do Bidoo Bidoo” stars the Philippines’ top singing superstars Gary Valenciano, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid and talented comedienne Eugene Domingo, along with up-and-coming bright new talents Sam Concepcion and Tippy Dos Santos.  A surprise hit in Manila, the film is a toe-tapping, hand-clapping piece of entertainment that’s a throwback to traditional Hollywood musicals.
Rock Polotan (Concepcion) and Tracy Fuentebella (Dos Santos) are teenage sweethearts, in love and full of dreams. A youthful indiscretion leads them to early parenthood–a dilemma they face squarely, and quite maturely, by planning to get married. They shortly realize, however, that the problem behind their wedding plans has less to do with themselves than with their own parents.
When the families finally meet for the eventual “pamamanhikan” (rites of engagement) at the palatial Fuentebella residence, what starts as a civilized encounter between two families escalates into a riotous rich-versus-poor mano-a-mano, a scenario that turns the mansion into a madhouse of outlandish proportions.
The ensuing family feud soon forces the young lovers to go through their own battles with doubt and confusion.  Do they really know and care for each other?  Will their own parents eventually accept “the other family”?   Will they say their “I DO’s” despite their inherent class differences?  Will everyone be happy in the end?  In a movie that’s as universal as this–brimming with songs, laughs, and surprises–love has all the answers.
Featured are 16 APO songs including such hits as: Panalangin, Batang-Bata, Ewan, Tuyo Na Damdamin, Nakapagtataka, Blue Jeans, Mahirap Magmahal Ng Syota Ng Iba, Pumapatak ang Ulan, Salawikain, Kaibigan, Di Na Natuto, and I Do Bidoo Bidoo.
A joint release from Unitel and TV5 International, “I Do Bidoo Bidoo” starts Friday, November 30 in New York City at the Indiehouse Cinema of the Producers’ Club (358 West 44 St., NYC).   It opens the same date in San Diego at the Gaslamp Cinema, and on December 7 at the Pearlridge Theater in Hawaii.  Other key US cities are slated to follow.
